Freedom, What It Takes!
Thanh Nguyen
Written to remember September 11th, 2001, when
terrorists attacked the Twin Towers in NY, and also the numerous times when the
terrorist communist North (Viet Cong) terrorized the innocent people of the
free Vietnamese South before 1975.
1.
The moments we
are stunned, the same times we realize
Our Freedom
will be tested again and again.
We will stand
together through this and forever
We will face
tomorrow with strength and what we stand for.
The moments we
are silent, the same times we realize
The world will
never change if Freedom don’t get a chance
We will stand
even higher through this and forever
We will say
loud and clear: This is our last frontier!
We will defend
Freedom on this land
For all have a
chance to understand what it really means!
The beauty of
democracy is beyond what we can see
And Freedom is
the only way to be.
We will defend
Freedom on this land
For all have a
chance to understand what it takes, Freedom!
2.
The moments
you are in pain, the same times I feel shame
What happened
in Vietnam, would it make this war the same?
We must stand
together for something much greater.
We will win
this war, no matter how long! How far!
We will defend
Freedom on this land
For all have a
chance to understand what it really means!
We’ve learned
lessons the hard way, let us all unite today
The price we
paid with our blood, for Freedom, will always be just!
We will defend
Freedom on this land
For all have a
chance to understand what it takes, Freedom!
We will defend
Freedom on this land
For all have a
chance to understand what it really means!
The beauty of
democracy is beyond what we can see
And Freedom is
the only way to be.
We will defend
Freedom on this land
For all (Viet
Nam) have a chance to understand what it takes, Freedom!
